This post was going to be a rant on the CBS!Sherlock Holmes drama, and how a good portion of the show's potential fandom is now hysterical because CBS has cast Lucy Liu as Watson -- because she's Asian, or female, or a combination of both, I don't even fucking know -- and how I sometimes think fandom doesn't actually want the strong female characters its always banging on about, because when they finally get one, she's either dismissed wholesale for reasons people never really articulate, or she's systematically destroyed piece by piece for fandom's amusement.
Then I read this blog post by Patrick Stump, wherein he explains his recent radio silence -- apparently he's sad and disillusioned because tons of Fall Out Boy 'fans' have been going out of their way to harass and demean him because he had the nerve to start a solo project and explore a new musical direction. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
Here, have a gorgeous piece of art to look at instead. It's the best I can do right now.
