Today I played a game of What Can I Cook Without Going To The Store. I was really happy with the result, so I figured I'd pass it along.
Quick Navy Bean Soup
3 cans navy beans
3 carrots, peeled and chopped into coins
1 large onion, cut into chunks
2 cups string beans, trimmed and cut into chunks
2 cups vegetable broth
Drain 2 cans of navy beans. In a soup pot, combine beans with carrots, onion, string beans, and vegetable broth. In a blender, puree remaining beans with the water from the can, then add to soup mixture. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat until carrots have softened, about thirty minutes, stirring occasionally.
I spiced this with about a tablespoon of Tony Chacherie's Creole seasoning, which is basically celery salt, chili powder, and cayene pepper. If you want it a little thicker, stir in about ½ tablespoon of gumbo file just after it finishes cooking.

In other news, Tumblr's new posting interface is the worst, it's less buggy today than it was last night, but I still hate it. Evidently IE doesn't support it, but I can't decide if I hate it enough to use IE.
