One Fic:
the ruins we have built by
juno_chan [ASoiAF; Jon Arryn/Lysa Tully, PG13]
Here I am with yet another fic I didn't know I wanted in my life until I read it. Jon and Lysa have such an unhappy marriage, and this is a wonderful take on all the issues underneath that -- that he is older than her father, that she is in love with someone else, that she suffers a string of tragic pregnancies -- all from Jon's POV. Beautifully done.

(These probably aren't so much fandoms as areas of historical interest)

I was going to do that music meme that's going around, where you list your favorite songs based on an assigned letter, but then I realized they'd probably all be My Chemical Romance songs anyway, so.
All right. Off to finish my fest fics.

Name your five favorite historical fandoms
(These probably aren't so much fandoms as areas of historical interest)
- Jack the Ripper: About a third of my (not inconsiderable) true crime library is books on this subject. Some are factual accounts of the murders, some are indictments against a particular suspect, and the others cover the effect the murders had on the police, the government, the press, and the people living in Whitechapel at the time.
- Depression Era Bank Robbers: This is another third of my true crime collection. Most of those are about John Dillinger, the Barker Gang, and Bonnie and Clyde.
- Historical True Crime in general: The last third of my true crime collection is spread out between the Burke and Hare murders, the Ratcliffe Highway murders, the Lizzie Borden case, the Mary Phagan/Leo Frank case, Leopold and Loeb, and the Black Dahlia.
- Piracy/the Age of Sail: This is kind of strange, because I'm actually terrified of open water, but I somehow have an obsession with nautical history, seafaring folklore/legends, and the personal histories of the old time pirates.
- Norse Mythology: I could read the old Eddas and Sagas all day.
