if I should return, think better of me
There was fic last night:
The Sin in Your Grin (and the Shape of Your Mouth)
Sirius/Snape, Remus/Sirius, James/Sirius | NC17 | ~16,000 words
The Order needed Sirius, but he doubted they'd mourn him long when he finally disappeared.
This is the first war fic I've been trying to write pretty much since I joined fandom, with bonus points for Sirius/Snape fight!sex and one of the unhappiest Remus/Sirius dynamics I've ever put into print. I didn't do James any favors here, either.
Quickly, onto today's
fannish5:
I watched The Return of the King last night, which I haven't done in over a year, I don't think. It's easily my favorite LotR movie, but I don't watch it very often, mainly because I have a headache before its over -- the scene where Perrin sings for Denethor always makes me cry, and I usually end up crying on and off through the rest of it. The part where Aragorn tells the Hobbits you bow to no one always kills me too.
Éowyn is still my favorite, as well as Frodo and Gandalf, and I still wanted Denethor to die in a fire long before he actually did, although... if there's one thing about the RotK movie that bothers me, it's the amount of Denethor's backstory that gets cut; it doesn't mention is depression after Finduilas died, or that a lot of his despicable behavior was the result of Sauron screwing with him through the Palantír.

What are your five favourite sibling relationships?
- Sirius and Regulus Black: I have tons and tons of headcanon about these two, and one thing I've always believed honestly is that they were close as children. In fact, they didn't really have a reason not to be. According to the family tree they were only a year apart, and while I doubt Walburga was ever a candidate for mother of the year, I don't think Sirius' disconnect with his family ideals really started until he was Sorted into Gryffindor and made friends with James Potter. I mean, Wizarding children are homeschooled until eleven, and Walburga wouldn't have allowed them to make childhood friends she deemed inappropriate; I imagine Regulus and Sirius were both pretty sheltered until they started Hogwarts, so Sirius wouldn't have known enough about pureblood politics to have a dissenting opinion until then.
Their relationship probably crumbled slowly, with neither quite willing to give up on the other. Sirius, in particular -- I've always figure he was far too possessive to let Regulus just walk away from him, and it wouldn't surprise me if we ever found out that Sirius tried to talk Regulus around to his viewpoint. In fact, as far as my own headcanon is concerned, I don't think Sirius would've completely washed his hands of Regulus until he found out Regulus was a Death Eater.
I also think Sirius asked Regulus to run away with him. - James Potter and Sirius Black: I'm totally not cheating here. All my jokes about their epic bromance aside, I honestly think James and Sirius were brothers in all the ways that mattered to either of them.
- Fred and George Weasley: These boys were so obviously two halves of the same whole. A lot of the deaths in Deathly Hallows upset me, but I think Fred's upset me the most, for George's sake.
- Katniss and Primrose Everdeen: One of these days, I'm going to write a Hunger Games fic, and if it's not Gale/Peeta angry!sex, it's going to be an sad, epic genfic about Prim watching Katniss compete in the Games.
- Éomer and Éowyn: I don't even have words for these two. I just love them so much.
