Many ASOIAF fans -- myself included -- think Jon will survive the mutiny at the Wall, simply because the plot isn't finished with him yet. This fic basically presumes the opposite; Jon does survive, but the plot doesn't really care. He doesn't get the Wall back, or fly into the sun and become Azor Ahai, or bump into Dany and her dragons. He's just living, only he doesn't really know how to do that without some sort of duty driving him. Stannis is absolutely glorious in this; he has no time for Jon's shit, because his life has been a huge ball of suck since before Jon was born.

In which Aziraphale and Crowley retire to Jasmine Cottage and open a tea-house, and everything about it is perfect. The tea descriptions alone are worth the price of admission, never mind that every single word of this is fantastic.

So, one day I was browsing the Fíli/Kíli tag at AO3 thinking 'I hope there's hypothermia fic where the warming process results in frottage that's half desperate and half guilty,' and THEN THIS HAPPENED. It's everything I've ever wanted -- belivable hypothermia, smoking hot porn, beautiful language, and tons of emotion packed into a small space, and the underlying idea that Fíli followed Kíli into that crevasse in the first place because he intended to die with him, as it should be.
